Sorry the Shuttle board didn't work. Can you give me a little more info? I want to make sure that your other components are good enough for a mobo upgrade.

RAM - speed (DDR400?), brand, and number of sticks you got (2x512?)
Brand of power supply (even if it's a good brand, 300W isn't enough)

Also, what is your 3dmark05 score?
How are you getting your FPS in CS? Are you running the benchmark? Does it really range from 30-50 FPS?? The benchmark really shouldn't range too much. It should be pretty consistent each time you run it.

If you want to proceed with an upgrade, and want my help, please let me know. As long as your RAM is up to the task, I think you could probably build a pretty solid system for about a hundred bucks.

My ram is 512 256 256 it blows ***. Its ddr 400. all of em. im at 768 ram atm since this mobo can only take 2 sticks while the other could take 3.

Im simply using fraps to benchmark it while im playing in a server. Im getting 25-45 fps in bf2 w/ everything on high w/ 4x aa. Thats horrible right? I think i should be expecting a constant 60 or what?

We need to compare apples to apples here. I don't have BF2, so I couldn't tell ya. Playing anything online introduces a whole new set of variables. So, for now, let's focus on Counter Strike Source.

On the main CS screen, there is something called Video Stress Test. This is a benchmark that will give you the average FPS after it's done. Please try to run it with the exact same settings that I did:

X850 Clock Speed: STOCK 500/500
Resolution: 1280x1024
Model, Texture, Shader, and Shadow Detail: HIGH
Water Detail: Reflect ALL
AA: 2x
Texture filtering: AS 4x
V-Sync: Disabled
HDR: FULL

My result: 112.81 FPS
