the only problem is, I don't think that PSU is enough for what I need it to do...
may even end up going liquid cooled within 2 months, so I need that extra "oomph". refer to my last post.

:edit:

I may have to wait till next month to fully purchase my 4gb total ram, hope that may help in the search.

a good 600 or 700w will do crossfire. like the corsair 650tx or 750tx

and get the 5770. its great for a single card, and they are awesome in crossfire.

Here's what I put together:

AMD 955 + 5770:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.326016

MSI AM3 Mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130249

Corsair 650TX:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005

Samsung Spinpoint F3:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-181-_-Product

Total: $588 Shipped, but you still have to buy ram/cpu cooler. I couldn't fit those in the budget, so you can buy them used from here and be just a few bucks over budget.

That PSU will handle Crossfire and watercooling, the 5770s don't draw much power.

Don't get me wrong,
AMD 955 + 5770:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.326016
is a great combo deal, I'm saving $30 with my combo and the XFX HD-587A doesn't really seem to offer enough "bang" for my buck.

but for my PSU I've decided to go with a
COOLMAX NW-650B 650W
which leaves me with roughly $100~130 for my memory...

meaning! I could get
Corsair XMS3 4 GB ( 2 x 2 GB ) for $104.99

with the remaining $45 in my budget, since I've been getting a lot of hate mail for defiling the phenom 2 x4, by thinking about OC'ing it with a stock cpu fan... I'll get a nice ZALMAN CNPS9900 NT 120mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler =]

Starting budget : $500 USD
Ending Budget after realizing the harsh reality of the OC world : $650 and still climbing.

Parts ordered on 2/4/2010
Project starts when I get something in the mail, thanks for the support guys... I'll keep you posted on the build.

don't buy Zalman, they're overpriced now...

if you can find a Best Buy nearby, you can grab a Corsair H50 for around $60. dunno if that deal is still on though

im not sure on the quality of Coolmax PSUs. make sure its 80plus certified. anything less than 80% efficiency is not good build quality. read reviews

edit: after looking that PSU up on newegg, the specs arent bad... its not 80plus certified but there are claims that it does have 80% efficiency. its kinda cheap, $50 for a 650w powersupply... i paid $50 for my 500w Coolermaster and i have overloaded it during GPU stress tests.

i wont buy corsair memory anymore, thats my personal preference. they have awesome PSUs and the 800D is an awesome case, but i will buy Gskill ram or crucial, etc. not happy with corsair when it comes to RAM

for the cooler, a Xigmatek Dark Knight is what i have and it does really welll. it does fit AM3 according to newegg reviews of a guy running it with a PII 955BE

there are more expensive air coolers that could do better. another option is the H50 from corsair. i saw reviews for the H50 and it does really well also. im considering getting one myself so i can overclock higher. my dark knight still handles my E8400 above 4ghz and i have great temps.
