I think if they're gonna keep throwing new cards out every three weeks, they should so some sort of trade-in program like ATi has for older hardware.
You have a CRT and you sit 8 inches away from your monitor?! That's dangerous for your eyes, you can go blind if you keep it up! Always stay an armlength away or more from the monitor, a lot of people had their eye sight damaged because of it.
If you can, raise the refresh rate to anything higher than 75Hz, that allows the monitor to flicker faster than the eye can detect, therefore taking away strain from your eye.

i know eVGA does, if a new card comes out within 90 days, you can put the money you spent on a current card towards the new one. if the 7900GTX costs 600 dollars (yeah right), then i can put 500 dollars towards it. mabye someday.

Mc Pee Pants doesn't just want the R580 and G71 anymore, he needs them. And when you need something, that is a mature responsibility, so just gimme some d*mn candy before I blow your head off lol! Look to my avatar for hints as to where that quote came from.

"a 700MHz NVIDIA GeForce 7900 is currently coming in at circa 13,000 3DM2K5's on an AMD Athlon 64 FX 60 system." now thats interesting that 7900GTX/ultra (whatever) would do as good as 2x7800GTX and 2 of them.. 25k 3dmark05? when is 3dmark06 being released?

No, more like 17 - 19k in 3dmark05 in SLI. SLI isnt 100% efficent, so you cant just double the score.
