Part 2
OFFTOPIC PICS
In addition to computers and technology, I love insects, especially ants and their behavior! The myrmecology is an issue that has captivated me since my childhood and now I have the opportunity to build my own ant farm.
So I want to share this little post offtopic of the manufacturing process of one of my ant farm.
Enjoy the pictures!

First, I cut a little piece of black acetal for the cap

Then I measured with a vernier the acrilyc tube for the body

Time to cut the tube!

Using the lathe, I leave the ends smooth

Now, time to made the O-ring slot for hermetic sealing

Smoothing the ends of the tube

Now, using a metal polish paste, I clean the tube

The vent

Since the vent will be on the top of the cap, I drilling the acetal to place it

Done, the ant farm it's ready!

This type of ant farm is made without "substrate", so I use gypsum to replace the ground (or substrate)

Once the gypsum is a little dry, retired from the acrylic tube and made a slot and cameras to the arrival of the guests!

Done! It should be noted that this type of ant farm is also exclusive for the queen. For its size and distribution of the chambers! I hope you like it!
