CS:S lags a bunch, but not my ping.

Any server I enter, including local ones I make, my character controls will freeze up and lag frequently. For example, if I am running and I want to strafe, I hit "A" to move left but it won't do it for about 2 seconds, then it will do it. I let go of "A" and it keeps moving left for about a second. that's just an example, it has the same problem with any movement. *** is happening?

One, maybe your keyboard is crap lol.

No seriously, if its wireless make sure theirs fully charged batteries in it.

Second close any msn. That seems to hate cs:s

Change your rates. i have no idea what this does, but just search for it on google .

You could be getting choke/loss.
Type "net_graph 3" in the console and take a look at the figures in the bottom right hand corner.

If youve got wireless internet in your house, that might also be causing it (i get sudden lag spikes, and you can see the little light stop flashing)

Maybe turn the graphics down. Especially HDR (can ATI's even fully support it??)

Hope this helps

Fixed it. Just needed a reboot I guess... I think this crappy kvm switch is just that.

Check your rates, too.

Set your PCI latency to 64 in ATI tool, that might fix it.
If not, it is your rate in CSs.
Edit: Whoops, problem was already fixed. Oh well, I tried.
