Setting up and voltage terms for EP45-UD3* - Page 18

post #171 of 282
FSBv = Term Volts right? if so, I'm at 1.36 now.

I'm gonna find the grab the M.I.T and fill it in as much as I can based off of memory to give you a reference of what i'm playing with. Give me a little bit and i'll post it up! thanks for the help in advance

M.I.T. as best as I can remember... the vCore might be a bit off, everything else should be spot on. (I've spent a lot of time in the BIOS the last few days, getting to know the numbers off the top of my head, lol)

CPU = Q9550 E0
Motherboard = UD3P Rev 1.6
BIOS Version = FB (I believe?... whatever came stock on Rev 1.6 board)
Ram = 2x2 1066mhz G.Skill 2.1v 5-5-5-15

So since my RAM is 2.1v ram... those refs that are .5*DDRv would be 1.05 each?

Also, should I start changing these settings one a time and boot up? I don't wanna change 20 things then come to find out it won't boot properly and i'm SOL as far as which thing is throwing me off, heh

I also used the 2.00D setting for memory because thats what I always ran with my E8400 I'll try switching to 333 smile.gif

Thanks again! I'll be doing this stuff when I get home in the morning from work and will let you guys know how it panned out smile.gif

I gave my best to find UD3P/R but it ws not ment to be..

So I have bought P5QC motherboard brand new for 100$ in local IT shop..

It's one of the last ones produced,came with original packaging and even with last BIOS ver. 2103..

This mobo is identical to P5Q only it supports DDR3 and DDR2 (it has 6 RAM slots)..

It pretty much OC's the same as my late P5Q Pro did,so I'm using the same settings for 3.9GHz..

For the pics of my actual rig CLICK HERE

Looks pretty good. As much as I'm sure you wanted (and probably still want) an EP45-UD3P/R there is something to be said about getting a board you are familiar with.

I did really want one UD3P/R but I couldn't find one for a sane price..

Here in EU 2nd hand costs over 150$ and still hard to find one that ships outta seller's country..

In US are cheaper but shipping was holding me back as no one wanted to ship over sea..

I'm pretty pleased with this P5QC as it OC's the same as P5Q Pro has all of it's features except CF and it's BRAND NEW with 1year warranty..(didn't even need to reinstall OS,just set HDD's as RAID and booted to OS..wink.gif)

Only thing that is stupid about this board is that horribly positioned 24pin ATX connector..mad.gif

I had compatibility issues with this HyperX RAM on my Pro but this P5QC is even worse,that's why I cannot go over 520MHz FSB on it..frown.gif

And it should do better than Pro as it has A3 rev. NB vs A2 on my late P5Q Pro..wink.gif

CHEERS..

@CLP320 - I set all those settings exactly as you showed em, and it wouldn't get past the section of my post screen showing processor speed, couldn't even analyze the RAM. So, I'm implementing the changes in steps now. RAM changed to 2.00B and 333mhz first, running Small FFTs now to see what each change does. I'm gonna change it around until its stable and leave the other settings well enough alone for the time being hehe

I've never heard of adjusting DRAM refs?

EDIT: Setting the RAM and turning on LLC, Worker 4 is over 23 minutes into Small FFTs. CPU hits 56C with LLC on but she's testing good so far... no errors! Thats with MCH ref at .76 and CPU ref at .815 and scaled up with 1.36 VTT... keep on going baby!

Posted up and stress testing at this now (this is idle volts)
1829671.png
30 minutes in prime with no errors... I know that's not long, but its a start, and it keeps rollin...

I'm gonna shut her down for a while and test more when I'm around to monitor. I still don't trust running stress tests when I'm not there to monitor.

Thanks for all the help! With these low volts and temps in line, it sounds like I might be able to break past 4.2 smile.gif

Is that DDR Ref really necessary? I've never touched it, and I get scared when touching new settings lol. Everytime i go to change it I'm like "too much and i'm gonna kill something" lol.

But yea, In the meantime, I'm gonna leave out some of those settings you advised. If I start running into severe stability issues as I press on and changing the normal settings don't work its time to start tweaking the other stuff you mentioned. smile.gif
