But yea, In the meantime, I'm gonna leave out some of those settings you advised. If I start running into severe stability issues as I press on and changing the normal settings don't work its time to start tweaking the other stuff you mentioned. smile.gif

Try Prime95 Large FFT for at least 6hrs..

If there is something off with your VTT,MCH or Ref voltages that stress test will dig it out trust me..wink.gif

or just run IBT for 10-15x loops so long as your cooling is up to it.. Large FTT's load CPU cache up, so its real good for testing heavy loading and vcore droop..IBT does the same to a little higher degree.

I use the following when finding stability during benching: if 1 passes..I go on to the next..

1. PiFast
2. 32mil Prime
3. 32mil SPi
4. 3D mark '03/'05
5. Prime small FTT's
6. IBT

..if the rig passes all of those, I have lots of room to tweak/tighten still for benchmarking stability..and can assure myself that I wont have any fluke scores either.

P95 Large FFT is the best stress there is for high FSB OC testing..

You need to lower CPU multiplier so Vcore doesn't interfere with FSB stability testing..

If you don't fine tune vNB,VTT, CPU ref voltages you will see errors on worker(s)..

Then you need to call CPU ref voltages to help as just upping VTT would not help..

P95 Large FFT is more sensitive to vNB,VTT and CPU ref than IBT as you can be IBT stable but at the same time to have workers that error in P95 Large FFT..

After I pass P95 for at least 6hrs then I up CPU multiplier and use IBT x 20 runs with max RAM for Vcore stability..

is it necessary to tweak any ref voltages above 1600 FSB? No matter how many volts i push ....i just cant seem to take my e7500 about 401 FSB!

is 1.3FSB term ok at 1560FSB?

No for just 400MHz FSB on C2D..

You've hit FSB wall of a CPU and there's nothing you can do about it..

I would disagree-> Try using the 333mhz MCH strap for RAM dividers instead of 400mhz.. I have never heard of any E7xxx with such a low FSB wall. my E7400 on water..5min OC with 780i

*I would think too, that 1.28-1.3 FSBv/VTT would be enough for this low fsb as well... list your settings from your bios if you would please.

Try-

MCHv @ 1.28 - 1.32v
MCH ref @ .81
FSBv @ 1.28v

*as well... I would recommend you lower your multi to 9x and shoot for more FSB... you may have better luck clocking CPU cache on 9x multi for more FSB

i just tried that with the 333 latch and ended up with "BOOTMGR is corrupt, system cannot boot"

I'll put in your voltages and get back in 2 min.

ok...i tried it with those setting with MCH at 1.3

I can easily boot into windows. But looks like my graphics card driver is corrupted and some apps wont open. I checked IBT and failed on the second pass.

what should i do now?
