Use Coolbits 2.0 or Rivatuner. Linky Just because it is factory OC'd doesn't mean it is at the limit, or any where near the limit. My factory OC'd 7800GT got an aditional 75 mhz core and .2 ghz mem. Just watch your temps and watch for artifacts (little blocks that pop up on your screen)

Yes, you can. Use Coolbits -> http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=815. All you do is unzip the file and click on the expanded file. After that a window will pop up asking if you would like to add it to the registry, you click yes and then you are good to go. Now that you have that done you can overclock and to do this you right click your desktop and go properties, then follow that through to where you would go to change the display settings of your card. Now there is a clock settings tab that has opened up on the left hand side. I would say only move it up 10 at a time and only work on one at a time, like work on Core than test and see if it good than Memory. Also i would use AquaMark3 to check for artifact, artifact will be like White-spotted "snow" in games, Mouse cursor disappears, becomes a "box of static" or leaves trails, Textures (walls etc) flash, scroll, are the wrong colours or look distorted in games and etc.

Happy OverClocking!

Yes. Set it to manual then detect optimal frequencies. After thats done you can fine tune it to see how far it will go. Up one at a time (memory or core) until you see artifacts in a game or benchmark. Then, turn it down a little to see if it goes away. Good luck.

It's because you can't overclock the core on that card not in windows. You have to modify the bios.

I had the exact same card I went on this board, tried a lot of stuff to get it to overclock like reflashing the bios and it still didn't work for me. It would freeze up the system whenever you overclock the core by even 1. Memory overclock works though.

In the end I listened to what someone in this forum told me, returned the card to Best Buy and bought a 6600gt from newegg. There is no comperison between the two. I ran 3dmark01 and on the nature test the 6200oc struggled at around 20fps, the 6600gt just demolished that test with over 100fps, and that's just one example. I can play games at much higher setting now without lag. I couldn't be happier with the card and the best thing is the price was about the same.

My advice would be to do the same thing, because it's just not worth messing with the 6200. Even if you do manage to overclock it, it's still a very slow card. I bought the card as a replacement for my old busted ti4400, expecting an improvement but I found out the 6200oc 256mb is acctually significantly slower. Don't be fooled by the 256mb.
