Can I see your Aspire X-Dreamers?

Thread Starter
I'm thinking about buying this case and was wondering if I could see how you guys have it setup. Is it worth the extra $15 for the X-Dreamer II just for those 6 LEDS at the front? The more pics at all angles the merrier!

Thanks!

As u most likely know the X-dreamer has a nice side window removeable mobo tray and it comes with 1 blue led fan which is nice.
The X-dreamer2 has the 6 led's on the front that are brighter than the sun I would advise a different case that the X-Dreamer the cool little temp monitor sorts out after about a week.

My first case was a X-Dreamer II. Its a nice case overall, but I perfer the higher-end cases (i.e., the ones that cost more then my motherboard, lol).

The lights are VERY bright, and the removable mobo try is nice to. The quality of build is so so, but it does have nice cooling options.

hey, I used the X-Dreamer II for my bro's build.

My overall thoughts on the case:

it's a nice case, but it's much cheaper than my X-Navigator (I know huge price difference... but still) The case is rather cheaply made... the metal is thin and the case dents and cracks easily in shipping.
the psu that comes with it is not an Aspire psu... while aspire psus aren't the greatest they're better than what came w/ the case. it only has 18a on the 12v rail. I replaced it w/ a sunbeam nuuo and had to take the top fan out.
While the temp display is nice... it would have been nice for aspire to include a fan controller. I added an aspire fan controller to the back of the case... $12 from newegg shipped.
I like that the case has front audio ports, but they do not have motherboard headers on them... you have to snake them through the case, out the back and plug them into the audio jacks on your sound card or motherboard... so they're not really worth using unless you only use headphones.
The LED's on the front of the case are quite bright and if you set the case on your desk right next to your monitor they can be annoying... but they do look cool.

so, overall the case is quite nice. My sentiments are that the case looks great and cools well too for a cheap price. You will need to add a few fans though. yeah, it has its quirks... but it's not bad.
Aspire does make some nice cases... but I'd suggest you spend a little extra to get a more expensive one that has moer features and is of better quality.

I like my X-Cruiser because of the removable mobo tray, and the Duct in the window. This allows outside air to get to the CPU HSF. I put an 80mm fan in mine to force cool air down that duct and wow what a difference. For 80 bucks with a PSU, I can't complain.

EDIT: The built in fan controller and the gauges on the front pwn!
