HTT vs Multiplier!!! - Page 3

HTT speed doesn't increase or decrease performance. It just needs to be set with the correct multiplier for the system to boot. I wouldn't worry about it's speed.

Thats what I thought, as if the HT speed was 1200 I don't think it would boot. Unfortunately Everest only gives you the HT clock if you buy it. Are there any alternatives?

Try looking at PC wizard 2006. Its as good as Everest in my opinion. EDIT: I dont think it shows HT after looking through it..

Why dont you just multiply it in your head? lol.

Example: You are running your processor at 2.5ghz (250x10)

Take the 250 and you want it as close to 1,000 as possible.
250 x 4 -----4 is your HTT multiplier..

As far as everest home (free), I'm pretty sure it has the HTT speed listed...I'll post a screenie if it does...one second...nope doesn't have it...I wouldn't pay money for it either, lol

And that's what it's all about because most systems dont really support RAM speeds as high as they make them...Manufacturers make them that high because those that will try to get it all...WILL (Overclock.net)

Man I caint wait to get my Opty148 and SLI-DR Expert running.

Anyway, back to the thread!

In my experience with overclocking it's better to have high FSB with low timmings on the memory. SiSoftware Sandra provides you with some useful information modules and benchmarks (it calculates CPU frequency, HTT, memory frequency, timmings, etc.). It's available for download somewhere on this forum.

You can get sandra here http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=177

I know this is gonna sound like a complete noob question, but how do you guys post a link like the one above, but have it show just as "sandra" or whatever you want it to say...? How do you change the name of a link, but when you click, goes to same place? I see people doing it, i just never took the time to learn

Thread Starter
On a slightly different note I am having a problem with the overclock setting on my A8N Deluxe. I changed the Jumperfree CPU setting to manual and setup the HTT and multiplier to how I wanted it. Then I went to go and change the RAM settings in DRAM configuration. I put the setting to manual and set it up how I wanted. However, when I went back to check the CPU settings they had been resetted back to auto. This happens whenever I alter either the RAM or CPU settings, if I change one the other one goes back to auto. Why is this happening???
