Core Slowdown Threshold

Thread Starter
I just applied AS5 to my GTX with a NV Silencer and I guess somehow when I did that I broke the temp sensor. The nvidia drivers say my idle is 73C and my load is 115C+!! Before my temps were 44C idle and 55C load. I know even if I did dump the WHOLE bottle of AS5 my temps wouldnt raise 50C. I know how to apply AS5 so thats not the problem. Speedfan reports my temps normally. I cant play any games cause as soon as I start a game my temps skyrocket to over 115C which is my core slowdown threshold and so it throttles my card which gives me like 10 fps. When I put my hand out where the Silencer blows air its cold and I know 115C is definately not cold. I was wondering if there was any way to raise the core slowdown threshold so I wouldnt be effected. Ive tried reseating the heatsink many times and I even reinstalled my mobo and display drivers. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

How could you break the temp sensor if Speenfan is somehow still showing the right temps?? If you touch the heatsink is it really hot or not? Also, try reinstalling your graphics drivers, but do a clean up of the old ones first.

The heatsink isnt hot and I uninstalled my display drivers. Then used driver cleaner pro in safemode and reinstalled. As for the SpeedFan, I have no idea,it just seems to be no other way...
