Dazed got NFS:MW

Thread Starter
I got nfs:mw black edition: unfortuneatly, my vid card is out on rma. I have a few questionc to ask. First, how is the gameplay without a steering wheel? Second, I have a nice wheel for my ps2 and want to use it on my compy. Does anyone have any expierence with one of these? Third, how do I diffuse the pain of having this game sitting on my desk and not being able to play it?

Thanks,
Dazed

i got this game yesterday.. to be honest, without the steering wheel TOTALLY Sucks. As for the PS2 Controller, I believe theres a PS2 -> USB converter that has been invented.. Not sure on it though, but im pretty sure there is one.. =)

I use a XBOX 360 controller and it works great. After a while you dont even notice the deadzone problem.

Anyways, i love the game, and cant wait until MW 2 if it ever happens, which i am sure it will.

Thanks guys, I'll look at the xbox 360 controlers then. I will try the ps2-usb converter first becaues I like my wheel and it is only 10 bucks.

I like the keyboard the best. Not digital variable sensitive, but you don't need that for MW. All you have to do is get your car pointing the right direction, then let inertia take over.

I can barely comprehend playing a racing game without some kind of trigger with a variable throttle control. It may be just me, but I find using a trigger to go forward is a lot more natural, same with a stick instead of two buttons on a keyboard- all you can do is full right or full left

if you are playing circuit then it probably best to use a steering wheel but for drag like i do keyboard works just fine. i just use my throttle control gamepad to keep the tachometer in place for perfect shift off the line and BOOM! i'm gone. this game is great. btw my online name is XRxRoxter

offsubject here guys... but i think that NFS should come out with a game that combines all the older need for speed games in one, all the cars.all the tuning options.all the fancy stuff.all the race tracks and maps, and combine it with GTA, so u can get out of the car and such and have some smallmissions to do.... anyone agree with me?

The type of adapter that you posted the link for works great. My cousin has one and swears by it. Personally, I prefer the Xbox controller as it is 100% PnP. His did not come from Radio Shack though and it stated on the package that it was for PS controllers AND wheels. I think you may want to make sure it supports the wheel you have.
