NEC 90GX2 looks good, but need opinions!

Thread Starter
Basic specs:

4ms (not sure if this is accurate)
1280 x 1024 native resolution
Silver (matches my new L-Li!!)
4 USB ports (nice addition)

Anyone have this monitor and would like to comment on it? The price is pretty decent too.

Get a VX924 3ms GRay to gray and it has a silver base and lining and it cheaper by a lot, I have a VX910 (16ms Response time) and love it, I'd save the $120 and put it toward a WC setup

plus it's a Viewsonic

I dont see why you would need USB hubs under the monitor, anything cabled will cause more clutter around your desk

Yes, I agree, ViewSonic has much better displays than basically anyone, Samsung and Hyundai are coming up in the LCD rankings, but otherwise ViewSonic is the way to go, unless you want to go budget (which by seeing the price of the NEC one you don't) i'd get a rosewill or somthing.

I have this monitor and it is great. I liked the Opticlear coating and also looked atthe Sony SDM HS95 P/S as well as other NEC, Samsung, ViewSonic, Acer and many others. Of all the ones I looked at the Sony with X-Brite and the NEC had the best displays. I cant believe how good this display looks, the brighness is great I have it turned down to 50%. The colors ar fantastic and the sharpness is the best. I would highly recommend this monitor.

The NEC 1970GX also looked great and has about the same spec except for response rate of 8ms instead of 4ms. I would also highly recommend the Sony.

The only bad thing I have read about these models is that the Clear coating that make the picture so bright is a bit relective and if your in an enviroment with harsh exposed lighting you may see the relections from the lights on the face of the monitor, but its no worse than you get with a glass CRT, For me the vastly improved pixture quality was well worth th slight relections.
