Is it possible to overclock the onboard Nvidia 6100 graphics?

1. Will there be a significant increase in gaming performance or will it just build up heat?
(Let's say Battlefield 2 for example)

2. Will there be a significant increase in gaming performance if the alotted video memory is increased from 128mb to 256mb?
(If it will increase FPS I will tell him to buy another 512mb ram instead of new GPU because it will only cost him 15$)

Pls do not tell me to buy a gpu. Im asking about this so I can increase performance for my friend's new rig. He just got a CPU (sempron 140 2.7 ghz) but his budget did not allow for an external GPU.

Possible, yes.

Improvement, well... I doubt it

I don't think its possible but I could be wrong, I never tried it myself, but here are my thoughts. Its just going to build up heat IMHO, not worth overclocking it because you wont see a significant increase at all, maybe 2-3 fps.

You'd be putting the rest of the motherboard in jeopardy as well by doing this.

Dont overclock the onboard GPU even if its possible. You dont want any extra stress put on the mobo

Also the extra amount of video vram by allocating memory to it will do absolutely nothing.

Not only would the increase 'take' memory from your system's processing resources, but also the result would be considerably slower in operation than a 256MB display card. System memory operates at a much slower speed than the graphics memory.

Or in other words: VRAM GPU bandwidth is much faster than RAM memorybandwidth, you wont do any good mixing 87 octane gasoline into a 92 premium octane gaosline right? Same with this.

He's Sempron 140 has 1gb ram.
What would be the best option to buy next:

1.512mb ram
2.512mb ram but increase the allocated onboard gpu ram to 256mb
3.Geforce 8400GS 512mb 64bit or ATI HD3450 256mb 64bit (cheapest cards i saw at the mall)
