How exactly does this benefit you? Just a quick question...

Some graphics cards can be flashed to a higher model unlocking pipelines. You can also flash your motherboard BIOS to a newer version.

You can modify voltages to increase your current bios as well...
Flashing is an almost permanent fix for overclocking your video card....
You can still boost it a little more it just depends on the drivers that you use after...

Ok, so basically its there so that it would lock the card for you so you won't have to go back and oc it?

Yes, and...Have you ever seen an option to change the voltage of your card? Flashing allows you to do that.

For the very advanced user you can also change the ram timings, but you need to be very knowlageble to do that.
