I have never had a wc so have no clue what is a better option.

And before i put a wc on my 4800+, would the Thermaltake Big Typhoon be better then the stock cooler? I mean, would it be better suited for overclocking, or the difference in temps would be unnoticable. As i have heard the stock cooler is not that bad.

The Big Typhoon is excellent. Even when I have my CPU at 1.5V and overclocked it only maxes out at around 40-42C under full load depending on how warm the room temp is. Before the BT I was maxing out in the low 50's. Use Arctic Silver 5 also for the thermal paste. For air cooling it really does an excellent job.

BTW, I should mention that I replaced the fan that comes with the BT with a 112CFM Silverstone fan.

I just overclock my to 2.7g and pass 24 hours prime test. If you want to OC to 2.8 i think you need a better ram (Gskill or OCZ). and higher speed (500mhz recommmend)

I just bought a Big typhoon, and it sure ir BIG compared to the stock cooler.

Just one question, the base seems quite rough, would i get a bit better performance if the base would be polished? Or the hassle is not worth it?
