Slow folding?

Well ive checked out my folding stats and it has gone down gradually and have found out why, some how ive been running the console and it seems to get stuck at about 61% completed for some reason for a day or 2, I dont understand whats going on so I got rid of the console(not sure how I did it but it seemed to dissapear) and went to the graphic version and it seems to be all good, my second rig is currently down with a dead 3000+ winnie in it which needs replacing directly before the end of the month to get sorted for our in house little comp. How are we going to monitor for teams cheating by using more than the allocated cpu's. Does this mean I have to turn off the duron 800 and the little p3 700 laptop from struggling with a work unit every few weeks. Maybe we can monitor the teams stats by having an average daily point graph which would be a maximum possible with the allocated cpu's and given overclock.(plenty of brainy crew here this cold be automatic) If everybody could post their average points we could go from there: or we could just look it up which would take time. Even create some sort of line that if it varies too much over a given threshold their could be a suspected cpu adding to the overall point score for the particular team. Not that it is bad folding more than you should be but how does this thing get scored. How many of you gamers (me) are going to not game just to keep the WU's cranking out, I suppose the dual core crew will be dominating in this area!!.....just a querie

There are way way way too many variables to come up with any useful correlations between systems and speed. On my main rig, it can chew through about 570 points/day on certain work units, and as little as 250 points per day on others. That's nearly a 2.3 times variation on the same equipment. The best you can do is look at your points on a monthly basis. If your farm is nearly the same from month to month, you should get with maybe +/- 10 percent as that should be enough time to even out most of the peaks and valleys.

By no means should you take folding rigs out of commission for the sake of our competition. Read the folding competition thread that's linked in my signature. It offers a suggestion as to how to handle "excess" folding machines. If we notice a decreasing in folding as a result of the competition, the competition will most likely be cancelled. We're hoping to encourage additional folding, not decrease our existing folders' output. The science is more important that the fun we'll have competing against each other. So, follow that suggestion, and although you won't receive credit for your "extra" folidng, team 37726 and the overall folding effort will.

Would it be okay if we folded our additional power under our team name, so that we could see how much our individual teams would fold without he 8 cpu limit?

Sure, you can do that. My only concerns are that we keep our collective effort up and that it gets applied to team 37726. If you guys want to have a "team team" for the "excess" folding power of each team, that's just fine with me (and an awfully good idea if I do say so myself ).
