I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with power-line ethernet? And if so what brands are the best/most reliable to use. Are the speed as good as being directly connected to the router.

CPU Magazine did a test on this. It actually yielded pretty good results. The speeds remain pretty constant the further away you get from the router, as opposed to wireless (the tested it against N).
If your electrical wiring in your house is fairly new, you should be pretty good.

I've got it. I have the trendnet kit and it works really well. Essentially you're directly connecting to your router. I have noticed though that I don't get my max speed through that kit. I'm not really sure why. I only get about 9mbps when I should get anywhere between 20 and 30, but I use it to get rid of lag on my 360.

I have a Linksys PLE200 set running to a PC on the other side of the house from where my router is located. Speeds run the same as the other two Cat5 wired PCs on the network.

I have it, and all the lights are on on both pieces, but my computer doesn't even recognize that it's connected. Any ideas?
