Well he was talking abuot just simply increasing the HT link Voltage Which I can verify that it does help 1.25-1.28v is a good place to start.

i have my CPU-NB @ 1.15 right now
and now after the 1600 issues, im running 1333 @ 1.65 (rated 1.65)
ive also been wanting to adjust my FSB (stock 200)
and lower the multi (18x for 3.6)
i'll see what happens as i continue to adjust
but again, thanks for the heads up...
ive always been a little skeptical about the RAM i bought.
but i got a killer deal on em...
i guess i'll try to squeeze the most out of them.
Yeah 1.15 is WAY to low for 1600MHz. The CPU-NB Should be able to go all the way up to 2600mhz on stock CPU-NB voltage.
Which by the way, the PhenomII's Stock CPU-NB Voltage is 1.15-1.30v
A higher HTRClk (Hypertransport Reference Clock) does yield better performance but will take a little extra volts than nomral, even when running the same frequencies!
Even though some of oyu may be running a different motherboard that my MSI 790FX-GD70 these settings are still a great place to start as I have recommended them to quite a few other running different boards. As far as these settings working for DDR and DDR2, that's most likely a different story...
YEAH, those A-DATAs are great memory! I believe that they have "Elpida" IC's in them which are BAMF's!
What exact model of dimms are they? Got a link to the sale page?
I purchased some of those Obsidians and the same Damn problem in a MSI 785GM-E65 with a C3 965 and they Sucked! I'm returning and have some Kingston 1600 CL8 Hyper's on the Way! I bet they'll clock well over the 1600 that they're rated!
yeah those OCZ Obsidians are JUNK! I couldn't get them to run stable at All! The shuld be discontinued for sure! I lilke OCZ otherwise! I would love to get some Corsair Dominator GTX 2000's or 2250's. They can run @ 1800CL6 @ 1.65 EASY!Edited by Mastiffman - 3/2/10 at 5:19pm
