Funny... I have the same set (OCZ Gold). It won't for the love of anything pass the Windows memtest program, as it fails within a minute or so, but Memtest86+ can run for hours without errors. It doesn't seem to want to do 1600 MHz either, but I'm not so sure yet at long as I'm on stock cooling with my i7.

never even heard of that site. I had to RMA a board once with Newegg and it was quick and easy

It's not unstable for me though. It just fails that program as I said. Blend in P95 also fails after a while.

I always use the overpriced MAYBE overrated corsair dominators.

Not for the looks or the name those are just a plus
But i use them because they are like little sherman tanks
that go well with the M1A1 thats the i7

I beat the crap outta my DDR2 and DDR3 Dominators with never a hicup
3+ years of abuse on the DDR2's and still going strong

Is there XMP for that kit? Try setting it to XMP 1600MHz and rerun memtest86

I meant Memtest86+(which I think is worthless). But before I started overclocking I just manually put the timings and speed. For the most part it seemed to run fine, but l remembered when I was playing Crysis it kept crashing when you fight the big exosuit on the aircraft carrier. I ended up bumping the settings down and it worked just fine. If you go over to the eVGA support forums and do a search, there are probably 50 threads about people struggling to run the OCZ Gold. I couldn't be happier since I got my Corsair XMS3.

Afraid not. SPD settings for 533MHz seem to struggle at 533MHz, even with 1.65v :/

I've set them decently now and there seem to be no problems. I'm gonna try lowering them soon and do some Memtest86+ runs later, because I originally only increased the timings because of memtest in Windows failed.

ram is unstable or useless if it doesnt perform on advertised speeds. pardon me if i didnt make that clear earlier.

run a prime95 test, see if it bsod's, i can guarantee you that it will bsod if you run them on advertised settings. but if you drop the speed (mhz) below a certain point, you will see that it will run stable.

that is what the issues with these sticks are all about. at least in the pairs i had. and 2 of my friends confirmed same cases.

and memtest is worthless for memory stability testing, its meant to see read/write errors with broken sticks mainly. (just on a side note)
the ocz memory will pass memtest with any setting, but in a os environment it will not work.

I didn't mention it, but in Linux I have no issues so far.
The system is stable enough, I can game on it without issues, but Windows seems kinda iffy.
I'm gonna try mprime (Prime95 equivalent on Linux) with blend now and see if it fails.
