Hello again guys. I'm feeling rather disappointed here... Guess what, just received my 758 today and it's Revision 1.0 instead of 1.1... Anyone got a Revision 1.0 here? It's an A1, so I have lifetime warranty, anyone knows if EVGA would change it? Anyway, here's a pic I took of it:

Never had an MSI but I did love my old Asus A8N-SLI 939...... just saying. Very solid mobo still runs solid to this day with an FX-57 in it.

they would in case of an issue most likely ship you a rev 1.1 board.

I hate the 930 I have. If these are similar to what I already have, then these will be folding rigs

Very nice Andy, my personal experience with Asus isn't the hardware rather the lack of support. Their website for drivers sucks. Phone supports sucks. Ect. It isn't that Asus isn't doing what everyone else does and maybe eVga will someday suffer it is just that eVga support is so stellar and unexpected that they have made a loyal customer of me.

Andy, on the folding side I have been thinking about a new case myself and was contemplating doing a desk mod incorporating a water cooling setup into my desk to save space. It isn't even a work in progress yet more a thought in progress as ideally I would like:

3 mobos with i7's 2 dedicated to fold and the third folding 90% of the day all in the same case, 18 gigs of ram or 6 gigs a mobo, 2 ati 4550's simply for display and my 275gtx for gaming all cooled by one hell of a water loop that I have no idea where to start with (never done h2o) and then I woke up and realized that the case and power supply cost alone would scare me back into reality. 60,000 ppd sure sounds nice until the spouse intercepts the power bill and wonder why you forgot to pay last month and you explai to her that this is just this months and she must have left her curling iron on a few times.

just a hint, if you think ~ 500 mhz /core tops are worth ~$300 in watercooling expenses and the added risk to your system, build a custom loop

i think i ve learned my lesson on the topic watercooling, its just for looks mostly, the huge performance gap with todays age air and all in one watercoolers is so small that the most users don't see too much of a performance gain.

(just something to think about)

and with the folding topic, the 2 i7 rigs without big shabang gpu's wouldnt really make such an impact on the energy bill, if you consider that an i7 system with a small gpu will only use ~ 300w to run.

case wise, i stick true to the good old caseless since my last gpu up / down / side grade

I'm hoping I'll never have to use Asus's phone support. I just went on their website and found drivers for my mobo, and it looks pretty standard. I should be able to get everything up and running with the drivers I found on their site.

Good luck with the deskmods. I'm keeping everything really simple. Everything is getting crammed into Antec 300's for now (on sale for $35). I'm planning on picking up some GPUs down the road, but I'd like to wait for GPU3 to release so I could figure out what's best. All these systems are just going to just be air cooled in a standard fashion. They are all going into a centerallyy air conditioned place, so ambient temps will be nice and cool.

I agree in regards to the performance of air however waterblocks and an external radiator certainly consumes less space then 3 good air coolers. Space would be king mounting 3 mobos in an enclosed server box

Quite frankly I have seen a few of these and while intriguing i have no idea how you would do it with 3 mobos.

Simple is good. I have been doing simple and clean for the last 15 years. I am long overdue for different.

GPU3 will indeed be interesting but I doubt from a price point that it would produce that many more ppd's than an i7 @ 4ghz. Of course I am only loosely basing this on my stock 275gtx @ roughly 8,000 ppd. I can't wait for the new ati and nvidia gpu3 benchmarks. No doubt OCN will be putting up some stellar numbers.

People without central air own performance computers? Poor little fellas.
