tune your system in by following a x58 overclocking guide....

either: 1 or 2

theres no one setting fits all with these boards/ cpus.

good luck on your journey

+1 to hitman's advise. Also, after you've familiarized yourself with the guides, make sure to back off all your memory timings to Auto. You want to find a stable CPU overclock FIRST, and then you can tweak the RAM. If you do both at the same time, you may very well find yourself in a continuous loop.

And on another note, MSI's BIOS sucks!

yeah the x58 bios's of the msi boards blowz

but their amd based boards are really sick, i loved my 790fx gd70s

nothing lovelier then a evga easy to use bios though, everything you need is in 2 steps.

The MSI X58 BIOS isn't anywhere as neatly laid out as the EVGA BIOS! Everything is just a little screwy and there isn't any way to turn Vdroop off...but oh well, it was so damn cheap.

I'm stress testing 4.0GHz @ 1.215v right now. I'm hoping it is stable at that voltage! The one thing I'm thoroughly surprised with is my temperatures though. I'm around 56-58c under load using a Dark Knight with push/pull fans. I don't know if the temp sensors are broken or what, but I am loving these temperatures!

the dark knight is a mighty good cpu hsf, dont underestimate it.

but its most likely the big voltage drop right on that, i need 1.305 vcore under load to get stable with vmware and gpu folding. and im topping out at 68 C (highest in the last 24 hrs)

lets hope the vcore doesnt need to be raised.

The thing that has me surprised is that even at this voltage (1.2ish), the Dark Knight has both of my Venomous X setups beat. My highest temps with Ven-Xs are close to yours, in the high 60s.

I do remember that I didn't get good temps with my stock Dark Knight setup though. This time around, I'm using AP14s with a shroud on the push fan.

I picked up a Corsair H50 today for the Asus P6T system, I'm also really curious to see how that works out. I plan on running it exactly like you have with 2 shrouds, except using AP14s instead.

whenever im getting started with my farm, ill be buying 6 or so dark knights, i just think price /performance wise they are good to go, and since ill be running them on a shelf, i dont have time to mess with a h50

I guessed that the H50 had about the same amount of lack of service as other coolers. I guess reality is different?

ok guys i have a big problem .

after afew days my system got so slow that im about to kick to the market place.

u guys know a few programs to test the hardwear? like say one my ram (maxmem), one for cpu (i dont know which one ), gpu (folding) and so on?.

i just wanna test them separate

sorry if i post in the wrong area but i will be selling this thing soon.

Its running 4.2GHZ HT on and in games it sounds like scratch cd, in the internet i can only open one window at time,to start takes 7 minutes from the bars going across to the actual windows.
