Highest was 90c.....

CPU-Z will tell me what? I know what the timings, speed and vcore should be, but if I set the speed manually and then the uncore manually the mobo wants to run the memory speed at an impossible speed.

Yeah I would put a fan on them or try you current settings with the Vregs at 800 and not 1077 or whatever you are running them at.

The divider shows up on cpuz under the memory speed.

Hey guys,

I think I'm going to lap my CPU and Ven-X this weekend. Partly because I need to break down the rig and check the CPU socket for damage (talking about the motherboard with faulty memory issues). Advan, you were the one that lapped your H50 right? How many different grits of sandpaper did you end up using?

And oh yeah...sooo broke right now. Coughed up for a new Lenovo X201 with 128GB SSD about an hour ago. So sweet yet so painful.

800 - 3 (small size)
1000 - 1 (big size)
1500 - 2 (small size)
2000 - 4-5 (small size)

I used a whole package of 2000 grit I think like 4-5 sheets. I just did it my way and used other guides for reference.

I got a little bit ahead of myself and tried going to 4.7... would hang mid post while loading raid controller. Bumped up the vcore a good amount and only slightly touched the other voltages and relaxed the timing a lot but couldn't make it. I'm fine with 4.2 and my temps are good so what really would I gain to shoot for a higher OC? I'm sure if I do go SLI 460's it'll eat up everything.

It gets to a point where it's not worth to keep going for daily use. 4.2GHz is more than enough, specially if you get 460's in SLI

Yeah, it's stable for me until I run prime for at least 20 hours then I'll feel fine. I don't think 8 hours was enough. I also turned HT on and bumped the vcore up another notch from what it was stable with before on 4.2.

460's might happen in a couple of months after I sell some things and get them on sale for cheap.

Sup guys, now I'm officially a member of the club. Got my EVGA X58 FTW3 a couple of weeks ago but only now I started playing with it, these are the initial results, without any BIOS update or fine tuning, I'm sure there's a lot of room for improvement.

Validation: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1316091

My Setup:

CPU: Core i7 930@4.400Mhz
COOLER: Corsair H50 Watercooler
MOBO: EVGA X58 FTW3
MEMORY: 12Gb Mushking Enhanced Blackline DDR3-1600 Part #996782 7-9-7-24
GPU: EVGA GTX 285@715/1625/1400 (Not fine tuned yet either)
PSU: Corsair HX1000

Temperature as of now is at 28ºC. I think this is a really awesome overclock, so I'm really really happy. Please let me know your opinions on how I may improve, what should I try to fine tune it and take it to the limit, all I did as of now was raising the vcore (which can probably be lowered) and bclock lol, so really, no effort whatsoever, I'm shocked.

EDIT:

Just adding that I've used Arctic Cooling MX-3 on the H50, both northbridge and southbridge and the GPU, and I'm also using a dual high performance 120mm fan solution on the H50 radiator.
