Starting the RMA process... Hopefully this doesn't take long.

Hey guys, I have a question for you H50 owners.

I'm thinking of using another H50 for my 6th build, but I was considering using 140mm fans in push/pull on the H50 radiator. Have any of you guys mounted 140mm fans to your radiator?

I'll be using an Antec 300 case again, and I'm thinking of having the H50 radiator set up verticaly, with the "pull" fan exhausting through the top of the 300 case in the 140mm opening.

I've been running Gentle Typhoon AP-14's in all of my systems, but I want to try something new since I don't like the whine the GTs put out. I'm thinking of running Noiseblocker BlackSilentPro PK-2's. Do any of you guys have any 140mm fans you really like? Or are there other 120mm fans that are dead silent?

I don't really know if you can mount 140mm fans to the H50 unless you rig something up. I also don't think the airflow would be good with 140mm fans on it.

I was thinking of mounting everything with zipties. It wouldn't be pretty, but I think it might work.

This whole thing is only an idea though. I'm just trying to find solutions that don't use Gentle Typhoon fans.

Pick up some cheap Yate Loon 120mm fans? I figured there would be zip ties involved, but how good would airflow be with an over sized fan?

I can't image "cheap" and "Yate Loon" being synonymous with silent.

I have to figure air flow to be better with an oversized fan. 140mm fans and up tend to push more air compared to their 120mm counterparts

Well what I mean is that with 120mm fans the air is flowing better through the rad as opposed to over sized 140mm fans which will be pushing air around the outside of the rad while trying to push through the rad. Lol you kind of understand what I'm trying to say? It just seems like it wouldn't be efficient but that's just my assumption.

Well my yate loon high speeds were quieter compared to my 3100 rpm 120mm fans
