Thanks for the pics as well, these show exactly what I was looking for.

yah, i was tired of reading someone elses crap and not finding what i was looking for, i am also going to send swiftech an email once i confirm the mcw30 fitting on the nb of this board, so they can add it to the compatibility list, as last week not one person (neither swiftech nor evga) was able to tell me what block will fit on my board

so i decided since karma asked me as he opened the club here, if i could help with my impressions and such, i would do a little review about this issue with the heat on the nb here

glad the time invested doesn't go down the drain and finds ppl that are interested about the same topic.

So let me get this straight. You went ahead and seeked help in what WB would be compatible with your board and none of them were able to help. So in order to fix the issue you bought the spot cool? IF so you did good man. Before wasting the money and buying a block that didn't fit, that was the smart choice. I do have to agree with the NB heat on these EVGA boards. One thing that helped my old 3X sli out was replacing the TIM. The factory applied TIM was horrible and badly spread. Really thick! That board however was RMA'ed due to dead RAM slot and now I have a new one from RMA. This one I ain't messing around with as it is on a tech station and runs rather cool anyways.

i bought the spotcool to get the temps down till my loop was complete as i picked it up local the weekend i got the board (thanks to karma's advice on the fan)...

i have since gotten the nb block in. and boy is that thing SHINY

but you got the story straight, neither evga forums, nor evga customer service was able to simply give me the measurements of the nb block mounts. so i bought the block in hopes for good luck. medicadpa didnt respond after the first pm, so never got the measurements here either

swiftech just told me to check on their list, which is basicly 5 years old (not really that old but outdated) and didn't even show a recent board on it

if it doesnt fit, ill just shell out the money for the full block and call it a dang day haha

Upon your original removal did you find silver grease under there as well, like I mentioned earlier in another post? I was pretty surprised to find silver grease on a motherboard out of the factory. They almost always use standard white silicone stuff.

Does the board have any power saving features that need to be turned off ? I looked but couldnt find anything. Every overclocking guide I read says to turn them off.

Also any reason why my voltage in cpu-z goes from 1.29 - 1.329 when its set for 1.29 ?

I noticed my board ups the voltage some on CPU and on DIMM voltages. The only power saving feature I know of is in the same section where HT support is enabled. It's call "speedstep". Other then that, I don't know of anymore.
Also make sure you turn it to "vdroop off" in bios. I noticed that limited the jump up for me.
Another thing that helped, once in windows and under load, you can fine tune your CPU voltage with Eleet, so you know exactly how much voltage you need. Then account for the jump up, and set that in your bios. So you'll never go over 1.29.

That sucks, good luck and hopefully the block fits well man. Nice looking block by the way.

sry that my pc is a work machine, not a system thats just built for pictures and EPEEN... this rig is turned on 24/7 (F@H), i dont have time to clean it till this weekend

but thanks for your concern...

btw the temps are not any different with dust / without it... im sub 68°C on full load

This is why i dont bother with cleaning now: small case is small
