So I used this as a guide to try and get up to 4 ghz and well it wasnt stable so I had to up the voltage to 1.35 and I still couldn't run the bclk at 191 so I set it to 184.

I am new at this overclocking so I dont really know what settings to tinker with to get the best effiency.

Did you copy my memory settings as well because I see you have different memory from me. Also every chip is different meaning some can hold a stable 1.25v VCore for 4GHz and some need up to 1.275v Its all up to the chip and what it likes, think of a teenage girl and clothes......VERY picky lol.

i left the ram alone. i am scared to change that. that brings up another point. I know I have ddr3 1600 ram but when I boot up it shows at 1066mhz. Any ideas why?

I have been gettin different advice, like going to 20x instead of 21x and lower the vcore and then go from there. Any tips would be great since I seem to suck at this lol

you have the multi set up to go to 1066, check in the memory settings to bump up the ratio.

Also memory multi has to be half of the QPI multi i believe or it really helps with stability, I Usually use 16x (QPI) and 8x (Memory)

Well it wasnt me who set it up like that. Thats how the defaults were because i havent messed with any ram timings or anything.

Is 16x (QPI) and 8x (memory) what I should use? I dont know much about Overclocking and for sure dont know much about what to set my ram timing at lol!

Change the RAM timings to 8-8-8-24-88-1T. i think you have the same kit as me?

Ya set it to those and set the timings to 8-8-8-24-1T you can try 1T but 2T will have a better chance of being stable and if you arent gonna bench heavily the difference is not noticeable.

Try setting the IOH manually. For around 4GHz I need 1.1v, but I personally think I have a very good CPU. You can try up to 1.25-1.3v.

Yup, 16x QPI and 8X RAM divider works best for me.
