Edit the before:

It is actually pretty much standard on the EVGA boards with the "Without VDroop" feature, my P55 did the same thing. I get around 1.40v full load with it set to 1.38v bios.

It actually makes for less voltage at idle which I like better then when the voltage drops at load and you have to over compensate for it at idle.

I cant make out you second screen shot t see what you voltage & temps are.

Thats a good way to look at it, a voltage drop at load definitely wouldn't be the best for overclocking. Sorry about that second one, I didn't realize it made it so small; just showing off my progress.

For quick testing 10 - 20 runs of IBT at maximum is good, but I have found less than that a bit misleading..

If I am making some changes and going up at 5 or 10 BCLK and testing in between I use IBT 20 pass at maximum until the heat becomes an issue (IBT puts more stress on a cpu then realistically needed IMO)

For 24/7 stability I will always recommend a good 10+ hour Prime95 blend, the blend temps will be about 10c lower than IBT, but still about 10c higher then any real world situation you will be in.

Just my 2 cents..
I know people swear by IBT, but I have been 20 pass maximum stable and still needed a bump in CPUv to get 10+ hours stable in Prime95....

Similar experience for me, although I've noticed that that prime on In-place large FFTs usually gets the temp up a little further than IBT. But for 24/7 stability I also like to run it on Blend for at least a day.

Ok guys. I had a stable, 4 ghz OC stable when these boards and chips were pretty new, and in reading all the CURRENT posted BIOS settings I gotta wonder... WHAT THE HELL. How are people getting 4.0+ speeds BELOW stock voltages? I went through and matched point for point several different BIOS setups that were posted, and most of them won't even let me boot to windows with stability. I got it back to 4.0 again (I'd had to reset my BIOS awhile back and forgot to safe profile first) but because I have 12 gigs of RAM now instead of 6, I kept getting memory crashes. Can I get some assistance getting back up to 4.0 stable Since the BIOS has been revised so many times?

For 12GB ram you will have to bump your QPI voltage.

If you could fill your current settings and post them it may help. Im not sure what your reading as voltages "below stock" because I know I cant do that. I need 1.35v VTT & 1.25v QPI for my OC. My ram is running at 1475 and its 6GB, so it doesn't need alot of QPI.

Faster ram & more ram will need 1.35v+ to run stable...

Some of the ones still posted for the X58 LE board in the memberlist on the first page show Vcore's as low as 1.18 o.0

I'll so some more testing later when I have time, I'm glad to know I'm not nuts thinking voltages need to go up to up speed.

Well its just luck of the draw for what voltage is needed for the desired clock speed.

I would not look too much into the spreadsheet, seems most of the posters were gone as fast as they posted it. I have not got around to it but I may delete alot of the people who have not updated their info...

But I have seen quite a few people get to 3.8 - 4.0 at rather low voltage. But I have figured the "Average" vcore for 4.0 is about 1.36v for the 900 series CPU..

However you will see some people do it with 1.25 - 1.28.
The people posting 1.18v for 4.0 I dont give much credit to. They may be posting at that voltage, but I doubt they are stable.

I was going to say they may be having the same issue as me without realizing it. That is setting 1.28v or whatever in the bios and than it just jumping to 1.4v after bootup.

Updated the member list spreadsheet. Deleted alot of people who had not updated any info..

If you dont see your name and you want it added please post
Name
CPU - Freq - Vcore
Motherboard (SLI3 - FTW3 - SLI LE - Classy)
Bios version
Bios template with Code Wrap (Hint, its the # button on the advanced editor for posting here)

Thanks... It helps for new members to have references for overclocking...
