Official EVGA X58 SLI/LE/Micro MB Owners Club - Page 253

Hi everyone, Very happy to have found this thread and will be jumping on board with my 757 SLI LE.. Took a couple years but I think its time.. Before doing so I've managed to read a good part of the messages here. With my goal being 4Ghz I wanted to run a few of the parts I have by the experts and than try to start testing.

Memory CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB 1600
Video EVGA 896-P3-1170-AR GeForce GTX 275

Would have any issues with those and testing ?

Welcome to Overclock.net. Those parts will work fine on the X58 SLI LE.

If you go here - http://www.overclock.net/specs.php?do=addsystem and fill in your system information it helps us make suggestions.

For overclocking to 4GHz you want to make sure you have good cooling on the cpu.

Thank you and Yess will DEF fill out my sig with System info as soon as I decide on my Cooling.. I ALMOST ended up with a Thermalright Silver Arrow. However I'm looking into the New H100.. Which Leads to my next Question Anyway try the block on 757 SLI LE yet? If so, Any spacing issues?

The block is tall, but no wider than a normal H2o block so you will be fine.

This is it on a Gigabyte board, and for the most part all boards have the same spacing around the socket.

Had this board for 2 years now, and i'm loving it!

I would like to know how to OC my RAM to 2000Mhz , Tighten my timings and/or if I can get my CPU to 4.0GHz safely. I have no idea what i'm doing, and im paranoid about killing my CPU and my RAM :|

My current OC was achieved by following this video, then lowering my vcore to get better temps

Welcome aboard... I will add your current settings to the member list.

As far as OC''n a bit more, you can safely get to 4.0 or more depending on temps. I always recommend trying to OC the cpu higher first, the extra MHz on the ram is not going to make as big of a difference as the added MHz to the CPU.

Max safe load(Prime95) temps 80c
Max safe core voltage - 1.50v (per intel data sheets)

Here are some tips for each tho, you can decide which one you want to try.

For 4.0 CPU See changes in RED
Code:
CPU Clock Ratio ( 20 )
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ( 200 )
CPU - 4.0GHz
Memory - 1602MHz
CPU Uncore Frequency (Mhz) ( 3205Mhz (16x) )
Spread Spectrum ( Disabled )
PCIE Frequency (Mhz) ( 102 )

Memory Feature
Memory SPD ( Standard )
Memory Control Setting ( Enabled )
Memory Frequency ( 1067Mhz / 2:8 )
Channel Interleave Setting ( 6 Way )
Rank Interleave Setting ( 4 Way )
Parameters
tCL Setting ( 8* ) --
tRCD Setting ( 8* ) --
tRP Setting ( 8* ) --
tRAS Setting ( 24** ) --
tRFC Setting ( Auto ) 88
Command Rate ( 2T )

Voltage Control
EVGA VDroop Control ( Without VDroop )
CPU VCore ( 1.35v ) May need a bit more, if you have stability problems see the BSOD code list in my sig.
CPU VTT Voltage ( +150 )
CPU PLL VCore ( 1.80v ) 1.80v < better not to leave auto
DIMM Voltage ( 1.65v )
DIMM DQ Vref ( +0 )
QPI PLL VCore ( 1.25v )
IOH VCore ( Auto ) 1.10v
IOH/ICH I/O Voltage ( Auto ) 1.500
ICH VCore ( Auto ) 1.1v
Some of the other things to consider if you have troubles is trying different CPU Clock Ratio & Host Freq.
Any of these may help stability.
190 Host, 21 Ratio (3990)
200 Host, 20 Ratio (4000)
210 Host, 19 Ratio (3990)

Some cpu's do not like certain multi's, so if you find it diffficult to get a certain setting try a different one just in case.

For 2000 MHz Ram you will simply need to make a couple changes and try..

Code:
CPU Clock Ratio ( 19 )
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ( 200 )
CPU - 3.8GHz
Memory - 1602MHz
CPU Uncore Frequency (Mhz) ( Change this to as close to 4000 as possible )
Spread Spectrum ( Disabled )
PCIE Frequency (Mhz) ( 100 )

Memory Feature
Memory SPD ( Standard )
Set the rest of these to the defaults your ram runs at
Memory Control Setting ( Enabled )
Memory Frequency ( 1067Mhz / 2:8 )
Channel Interleave Setting ( 6 Way )
Rank Interleave Setting ( 4 Way )
Parameters
tCL Setting ( 8* ) --
tRCD Setting ( 8* ) --
tRP Setting ( 8* ) --
tRAS Setting ( 24** ) --
tRFC Setting ( Auto ) 88
Command Rate ( 2T )

Voltage Control
EVGA VDroop Control ( Without VDroop )
CPU VCore ( 1.20 )
CPU VTT Voltage ( +150 )
CPU PLL VCore ( Auto ) 1.80v
DIMM Voltage ( 1.65v )
DIMM DQ Vref ( +0 )
QPI PLL VCore ( 1.40 - 1.45v ) Higher Mem Freq needs more QPI Voltage
IOH VCore ( Auto ) 1.10v
IOH/ICH I/O Voltage ( Auto ) 1.500
ICH VCore ( Auto ) 1.1v
And if you end up with your ram running below default, meaning you have 2000MHz ram running at 1600MHz, you can just try lowering the timings one at a time and use memtest86 to test.
I suggest downloading it and burning to a CD and boot from the disc, let it run 2 passes, if no errors restart and lower the next timing.

ie: current is 8-8-8-24, start with 7-8-8-24 & test, then 7-7-8-24 and test etc....

If the first one is stable but the second one is not just move to the next, meaning if 7-7-8-24 errors, try 7-8-7-24 and test....

Your QPI voltage is safe up to 1.35 - 1.45, when you start messing with the ram timings and speed you will need to bump it up to 1.25 - 1.30 to help stability.
