Thanks for that B-con, I was wondering why all the different boards.

Forgot to think of USB 3.0 support as well....

whitebird89, trial and error would be my best suggestion, while the 3rd slot is 8x, with 2 460's you may not see any difference if you run it that way.

Try it and run some game tests and benchmarks. Having the extra space may allow for better airflow.
The on-board sound is pretty decent, you would just have to try that as well and see if there is a big difference. Post your results, I am curious about the sound card.

Sounds like a good plan. I have some parts arriving today, and I am hoping to get them all installed tonight... (New psu, some fans, and a fan controller)

While I am at it, I am going to put in a corsair H60 on the cpu. When I reassemble, I will pull out the sound card and stick the 2nd GPU in the 3rd slot and see if that keeps the heat down a bit for me.

I will let you know how everything works out, and also, once everything is back in and neat, I will put up some pics of my system. Might even do a couple before and after just to get some critique of the changes.

Thanks!

Hey guys, just wanted to share the updated pics from my system. Last night I added a Corsair AX750, Corsair H60, a NZXT Sentry Mesh fan controller, and a Cooler Master 4x3 Drive bay converter with fan, and a number of additional case fans to help with cooling. In addition, I spent a good amount of time working on the cable management. I didn't move the GPU and remove the sound card yet, so I don't know how that will work, but the cpu temps dropped pretty good, so I am going to try OCing it now. Here are some pics, let me know what you think!

I like the upgrade from the 850W Thermaltake to the Corsair AX750. It says a good deal about their build quality to say that moving from a power supply rated higher to one that is rated lower an upgrade.

I've heard some good things about the H60 as well.

I got about a 10 degree reduction in idle temps on the CPU. I have a push/pull setup on the radiator, with 2 Xigmatech extreme silent fans, both hooked up to my fan controller. I got the 10 degree reduction with the fans all the way down, and the whole machine was practically silent. When I turned up all the fans, it sounded about like it did with the stock cooler on it.
I upgraded to the AX 750 because it seemed to be quite reliable, as well as putting out very stable numbers. I wanted something like that so that I can get into overclocking, and I had heard many negative things about the Thermaltake Black Widow I had, but where I live the best I can do for electronics stores is Best Buy, and that was an emergency purchase when I had to get something.

Thank you KarmaKiller! I was trying to overclock again this weekend and wasn't getting very far and tried your template! Works like a charm!

edit: That should mostly be "Thank you B-Con!", I actually stole a bit from each template
I'll post settings when I'm done messing with it.

@ Fir3Chi3f - Looking good!! Glad to be of help. When I first overclocked my sig rig, I found about 8 different templates with my system specs. They gave me a good place to start, which made for an easy overclock.

@ REAPER - Sexy rig!! Be safe in AFG.

Thats a really nice looking setup REAPER

@Fir3Chi3f - lookin good, its why I like having those bios templates on the first post, makes things alot simpler. I know for me I wish I had that for every new board I have ever bought. Sure there is still the fun of trial and error, but a starting place is nice.
I will get your info updated in the members list tomorrow from work (dont have my login info here at home)
