Official EVGA X58 SLI/LE/Micro MB Owners Club - Page 34

Woot woot, put me down for a 3x SLI!

Also, I'm sure this has been asked somewhere by someone at some point, but how accurate is the onboard CPU temp monitor? I'm showin' 50c~ under light load on both onboard and in the E-Leet CP, but CoreTemp and RealTemp are both showing about 60c-65c~. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Scratch that, looks like I'm throwing accurate numbers for individual cores across the board on all 3 programs.
I feel like a noob for asking, but why would the overall CPU temp be so much lower than the individual cores?

Even the main CPU fan doesn't respond to the speedfan options in BIOS. And for some reason I have speedfan configuration choices for all the fans but the only one on the motherboard that is actually 4-pin pwm connector is the CPU fan connector.

Hmmm... that's weird. You should definitely be able to control the CPU fan then. Do you have the CPU fan in the BIOS set to Smartfan or Manual ? Other than that, I can't think of anything else.

Question...
During my 3dmark06 Tests only during the dragon and airship tests.. I get some light beeping thru the speakers on occasion but it ran and passed. What do I need to adjust for to fix this?

:back story:
I had heavy beeping on the old Mobo and crossfire but it would fail before or during this part most of the time.
Since then, the Mobo had been changed and one of the two 5870s...
the one that I am kept runs 36mark flawlessly and has posted a single run of 25720 with no beeps by its self...

So, it kinda seems a crossfire issue?

I figure I need to add voltage somewhere, just not sure where.

When running C/F you really stress out the CPU and it's related components more. You can try one at a time to see if it fixes the issue.

-A notch or two more of vcore
-A notch or two more of IOH voltage
-A notch or two more of ICH voltage

wow guys, we should really put some info about evga's crappy warranty on the front page as well, maybe our voices will be heard. just found out a friend of mine had to pay 65 bucks for a socket replacement from a brand new board that arrived with a bent pin

that makes me really upset that they pull something like this, i rma'd multiple boards before and never had to pay smack for a warranty related issue

Something is up there. EVGA's Warranty and customer service to me is great. Maybe we are missing some details as well as you.

Ok, I'll try the IOH and ICH.. I did a swing up and down on the Vcore, went two or 3 positions up and down from my base via Eleet, beeping was about the same, ONLY as the dragon goes over the ship.. I'll try the others. tnks.
