That is about all I can get too with my Classified X3 Sli due to temps, other than a bad Lan port on my first board, I am loving this board so far.

I've got the LE. No overclock, as my previous Gigy board fried the IMC. Dad has the 3x. No OC as it's his workstation and needs stability over speed.

I would be happy with 68C at full load, I see about 66C with hard gaming but still can't stop Linux from going 82-83 on Core one I get this from my current OC and more when I am at 4.1 and above, I don't think my voltages are high at all, so I am not sure what the deal is.. I just changed my H50 to a push pull last night, I'll see what that does for me in a few days.

on a h50 thats not a surprise, as harsh as it sounds

h50 = 70 bucks
my cooling loop = 300+ bucks

a slight difference xD

but the h50 is a very reasonable AIO cooler if you ask me, i had 3 of them so far, and they all performed WAY better in warmer room temps then any air cooler i owned... including the super overhyped megahalems

Oh I know
I can live with 4.050 as my OC if I have too, this rig SCREAMS and I am well pleased while gaming, that was the objective from day one, to build a solid gaming rig that I can make a few small changes too if need be and still get 2yrs of use out of before the games catch and pass me.. I think I have meet my goal.

i think you have well overshot your goal haha

the rig you built there is 100% future proof, me on the other hand , ill be building a new rig in august / september (after basic) to replace my current rig, which will be demoted to folding 24/7 from then on

im still debating on what parts, but honestly right now not even thinking on what exactly ill be dropping in it, as the budget will be huge at that point
post #518 of 2630
What exactly is folding? I looked it up and found out it's protein synthesis or something like that.

But having a computer doin' that 24/7? What's the gist, i'm missing?

I have not joined a folding team yet 44.. but I have done some reading and one of the members can correct me if I am wrong....
But from my understanding medical research teams and colleges basically use your PC for crunching numbers and running analyticals searching for a cure for cancer.

basicly its a protein folding operation that is done thru cloud computing, heres a nice small readup on it :
http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...ifference.html

so in very short term, its helping out the university of stanford in doing the calculations for them on the cloud of computers we (the clients) provide.

i hope this helped a bit
