Why do you think it takes so long to 'update' you computer? They are scanning every drop of your computer for useful data.

That is nearly the stupidist thing I have read in this FUD infested section of overclock.net.

The other odd leap of logic is how data mining (which GOOGLE are gods at) and information retrieval (which is what GOOGLE IS) have anything to do with adware.

Moments in time like this is when I regret the internet and its abilities to "inform" those who don't know *** they are talking about.

I am betting a lot of this is tied to LIVE and other services that have not even been released yet.

exactly... sheesh people, stop with the lame microsoft hating... the whole "Im cool cause Im anti microsoft" is really overrated

did anyone even bother to read the rest of the sentence?... sure it says "create technologies that will better target online advertisements" but that doesnt mean you can use it as a justification to say all sorts of things with absolutely zero proof

Have to say Microsoft are being quite pointless. Why do we need advanced fancy smanshy adverts while your surfing away. Nothing but a bloody pain. See the boys at Microsoft... Idiots.
*annurism*

Yeah. Those pointless ads pay for all those pointless sites like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.

And the pointless new stuff will undoubtedly work with new pointless subscription/LIVE services at differing pricing points based on number of ads, etc. Or hell, there is even that pointless theoretical google OS that would have been pointlessly free based on new pointless ad serve technologies. And as online search/ad engines move into offline environments (radio, etc) they will increase their pointless endeavor to tie more and more intelligence into ad based systems to better target an advertisement to those pointless consumers.

Actually, what is pointless is reading **anything** into this other than MS looks like it is building a new team to deal with ad based methods, which will be used in.. Oh wait. We don't know. So let us pointlessly make up some products and uses, the Strawman be damned!

(Edit: Ifn you don't know strawman, take some courses in logic...)
