512 would be a a good target.
A good video card would help. That even have AGP?

What OS you trying to run?

It should have AGP; most Pentium systems or later have an AGP slot. My 200MHz pentium that i bought off my neighbor for $5 has one.

VIA Apollo 133, PIII 600 MHz slot 1 (512KB) + TNT2 32MB AGP 4x @ AGP 2x
OS: WinXP SP2 (lol)

2 Questions:
1. VIA Apollo 133 can support "SOFTWARE AGP 4X (VIA 133/4x) " with a program and I install it, but it runs at 2X ???

2. Is PIII 600 MHz, FSB 100, slot 1 (512KB) better than PIII 800 MHz, FSB 133 (256KB) ?

I think your find that the P3 600mhz L2 cache runs at half the clock speed eg. 300mhz

The P3 800mhz L2 cache runs at full speed (800mhz) better i think.

I have a similar setup. A P3 650MHz, Asus P2B-VT (Kestral), which orginally had 128MB RAM that I upped to 640MB. The improvement in operation was phenominal. Even with XP SP2. I also put in an old Vid Card that I had, nVIDIA Geforce MX 200, used Coolbits to overclock it. So it has somewhat decent graphics, for being an old computer used as a backup anyway.

My suggestion is to get ahold of some old computers and harvest their RAM. I am sure yours uses SD. Also, Check for a BIOS update. Use the RAM optimizer that other helpful OCer suggested. Lastly, disable everything. Go through this XP Optimizer guide and do everything you can to decrease Windows running requirements.
