For those of you who want to literally stress the limits of your rig, 3DMark06 will be released on 18 January 2006 to make you feel like you have to upgrade.

There are 2 flavors, the free Basic edition and a $19.99 Advanced version.

Id be happy if 3dmark 05 even worked with my pc, let alone 06. I can only get 1600 marks in o3, i would probably only get 200 in 06.

My laptop barely scored 4000 on 3DMark01, I wonder how my new rig will score in '06, and once again when my 512mb x700 arrives. Hopefully I'l get a decent score, otherwise I'll be looking into some Video Card OC tutorials...

This new release looks like it's going to support HDR as well as SM3 as well as other eye candy that is supported by current generation cards.
