jeez

Ok, I don't think they are coming out....not for a while, Dual anything has been out since the 90's. Dual GPU's I can see more compatibility coming, but not yet either, F.E.A.R. is the only new game with full SLi support, I don't know of any with Full Crossfire support. So I would still stick with Single core, and maybe get a new dual GPU setup...

Actually, the Quake 3 engine is multithreaded. And it's been out since like 1999. Didn't ID just recently release a patch for the Doom 3 engine to make it multithreaded? Or was that 64-bit? Either way, it's coming, and fairly soon I imagine, so may as well get one if you can (still wouldn't waste my money on a Pentium D, but whatever). Plus, both graphics card makers now have drivers that can add a little performance with a multicore processor by offloading some of the basic geometry work to the second core instead of wasting GPU cycles.

Quake 3 is not multi threaded, i know for a fact, and **** man, its quake 3, its old. (why would they multi thread it). The only thing closely related to multi threaded and quake 3 is Dedicated Quake 3 Servers have Multithreaded/Processor support.

**cough cough*** N00b

And those drivers for games oonly give them a little bit of suppport. go to tomshardware.com and look for yourself, SLi/Crossfire performance is not up to its limits yet, not even close.

Well I can't find any proof for it, all I get is Quake 4 engine multithreading, but I do know the Quake 3 engine is multithreaded because it specifically said so on my dad's dual PIII machine.
Maybe you should try being more of an ass next time, sure makes you look good attacking a moderator.

... You missed the point. I don't care if Dell sells Intel or not... People buy Dell because they are ingorant of their option to build their own computer. They think Dell is a great company.

I think that many people buy Intel because they are ignorant to what AMD offers. Ask most people and the have never heard of AMD...

I may have intel but it dont mean my next rig will be intel, il build what i want!

But i do agree that most of the consumers "do not look out of the box" to see what else is on offer, when buying a PC and not knowing alot about them people tend to go for the easy option and Dell is one of those, its cheap and it works (ahem).

People dont really know about AMD coz they dont tend to advertise as much if at all, intel is everywhere on TV and stuff, if you show a rabbit a carrot alot its gonna end up wanting one lol
