ok booted in safe mode and ran driver sweeper. removed all the drivers. rebooted. installed nvidia drivers, rebooted. installed patch, rebooted. ran cmd for drivers, rebooted. still cant run aero and see nothing in nvidia control panel about sli. any ideas?

Well, I mean in older benches where I should get a lot of FPS I lose performance going to SLI from a single card but I'd expect that when it's a PCI-e 1.0 or 1.1 slot, it's like having a PCI-e 2.0x2 slot because 1.0 has half the bandwidth.

In 3DMark 05 and 01 I lose performance in SLI but in 3DMark11 and in 06 with settings maxed out I gain a pretty decent amount.
I know they're CPU limited but I lose something like 34% of my FPS in the canyon flight test in 3DMark 05 which is either a bug or a bandwidth problem.

I'm not complaining though, unless the cards can already handle what I'm running well I get a nice performance increase. smile.gif

You can add another motherboard that this awesome patch works with:

Intel X48 (MSI X48C Platinum) + 2 x GeForce GTX280

Remember: You need a SLI BRIDGE. A CROSSFIRE BRIDGE WILL NOT WORK, even though it fits on the connectors.

i figured out i wasnt using the right drivers. i used the right drivers but the sli option in the nvidia control panel doesnt show up. im gonna try the beta drivers now

edit: same results with beta drivers

Has anyone used the new beta drivers for BF3 from Nvidia?

http://www.overclock.net/software-news/1126291-nvidia-nvidia-releases-battlefield-3-beta.html

Planning to try 'em out tonight.

I'm interested in how you go with this, since in the notes for the drivers Nvidia recommends them for RAGE also.

Yeah, I've been reading a couple of problems with the beta but mostly no problems at all. Although I can't speak of their computer builds.

Very interested, afaik 280 dosent work without those edited drivers from the patch team. Would be interested if you/others could get this working on 285.38. Unless they make 1.6 avaliable then only option is to get 1.5b working with them (unless im missing a new release somewhere, been out of the loop for awhile)

My 460's cant cut it in single mode :L
