HOWTO: SLI on a non-SLI Motherboard (GTX5xx compatible 1.0 final released!) - Page 24

the hack is easy to install, very straight forward and I am running it successfully. Unfortunately , the only drivers that support the gtx 460 is 258.xx, and the hack does not support it yet. The guys doing the hack are still working on it, it seems newer drivers are much more difficult to implement. keep in mind, these guys are doing this for FREE and on their OWN spare time. If you need sli asap, buy sli certified board or switch to a gtx 465/470/480 or older g-force model or WAIT, I suspect possibly, and this is my guesstimate, in a few more weeks. At least try to read the last 5-10 pages, you'll see your question has been asked several times already and discussed, just fyi

so does this patch work with 258.96 drivers? not a 460 card just the drivers, i gonna try 2 8800gs i have on my board.

The SLI works from a driver standpoint but games usually crashes 10-30 minutes after playing/BSOD

AS of right now, If I order a 2nd 460, will this work? Also, for each new Driver NV releases, will I need to wait for this hack to update?

See what I mean?... If its to much of a pain then ill pass.
It's right there on the first page.

And the answer is no, but they're working on it so within a month or so you should be able to.

258.xx are the drives needed to get gtx460 to work, I think someone tried 257.21 (latest one supported by the hack) and it did not work on it. Thats one of the reasons I went w/ the gtx 470 is that I READ THE ENTIRE THREAD, and found gtx 460 does not work yet. Plus the gtx 470 is better and supports tri/quad sli too.

Guys w/ the gtx 460, be patient and PLEASE, PLEASE at least read the last few pages of this thread. I would say all your gtx 460 sli questions can be answered immediately by doing this and not asking the same question over and over. lets keep this thread open for those who are able to install the hack and have any questions or concerns w/ it. I will try to answer any questions as best as possible based on my experience w/ the hack and my sli gtx 470 using the Asus Crosshair IV Forumula
post #236 of 1985
works with my board! havent tested with any games though

edit: i also have no SLI connector, so i probably wont get that much performance boost. its not like this is my permanent set up, i just wanted to see if it was possible on this board. And this is like the easiest hack ever, you basically dont have to do anything.

edit: so if everest dosnt show SLI certification means its not working?

Performance is SEVERELY degraded on my SLI 470's without the Bridge. My Single 470 @ 800/1600/1900 pulls 19k (old install of windows plus lots of stuff going on), and my SLI without the Bridge Pulls 25k. Pretty bad...

I'm still waiting on SLI Bridge to come in the mail. Darn Amazon.com shippers

I didnt see a dramatic difference, maybe 10-15%, though both my cards are running full 16x on my 890fx. I just ran furmark and kombustor mgpu, crysis bench. Im going to get vanatage soon, Ill experiment w/ and w/out the bridge
post #240 of 1985
