This is really looking bleak, I know this is a free effort and all, but not being able to take advantage of new drivers sucks. It might be time to move on and get an sli certified board or go back to the red team, which I know drivers are not the greatest thing
Yea, this is a very good idea, and I thank the mod team behind it. But I can't wait anymore for a Horse that wont get out of the gate. Hint: 258 drivers..

And I don't wanna have to wait 3 months after each release till they can update. Rather spend $50 on a old 775 SLi board til Sandy Bridge.

so, ive been wondering about this idea (as i have a crossfire board and now want to SLI), and it seems that all my reading shows only two down sides:

You can't update to the newest nvidia drivers without a while of waiting for updates, and you might lose your current windows config and have to reinstall.

Did i miss anything else enormous? Cause i mean, if you cant update to the newest drivers, you can still run 3d surround vision etc, no?

EDIT: the 258 drivers arent the 3d surround drivers, are they? >.>

Did Nvidia not pay a lot of money to buy the technology from 3DFX and were they not the first to be able to connect 2 GPU's bringing the need for SLI Capable PSU's back in the day. You have to look at it from a business stand point and that is this. Nvidia is protecting their investments period. Sure a lot of people get PO'd because they can't use SLI on Non SLI mobo's " well not until the SLI hacks pop'd up" or have to shell out more money for an SLI capable mobo. You do get what you pay for though IMO and that can be said for any thing in lifes journeys... .02¢

So what's your point. Bill Gates bought DOS like over 20 years ago. Does that mean you stop using Windows OS???

honestly, Nvidia just needs to add the certification and it will work, There is no hardware limitations other than having two pcie 2.0 slots. I've heard some propose paying Nvidia for the certification which is a win, win situation for them. Not only is it extra revenue through an official certification but it will open up nvidia products to more consumers and also increasing their sales.

As mentioned its a great effort on behalf of the dudes behind the hack, but really is not the best route for enthusiast who paid lots of money on their graphics cards to be hindered by software (ATI/AMD Im also looking at you guys and your drivers ).

Anyways, Im more incline to go w/ an i7 x58 platform since prices are dropping like crazy for the i7 and some x58 boards. Going red would be much easier, but Im really captivated by the green teams product and performance.

So thanks to the hack team. It was a good effort, I think I would be more productive to petition Nvidia to have them offer and sell an sli certification. You never know, enough demand may convince the green team.
