8x will have little to no impact on your gtx 260 in sli. In real world, its not even noticeable. If your board has two pcie 2.0 slots avail, your good to go for sli gtx 260 buddy

Good news everybody, it seems Anatolymik's new patched drivers are working fine on GF104 !

I've been gaming in SLI (2x 460) all evening long without any problems.

Just did it and it works. this should quiet it down some (and I don't mean all) gtx 460 owners wanting sli on a non-sli certified board. Now, Im just imagining when those gts 450 owners start hitting this thread...
