Folding freezes computer

Thread Starter
Well, it doesn't exactly freeze, but if I leave my computer to fold for a few hours unattended, the screen will have gone black as if it's in hibernation. I wiggle the mouse or hit some keys on the keyboard to wake it up, but my monitor acts almost as if it's not connected to anything at all. It's not in sleep mode anymore, and I can hear the fan in my rig signaling that the graphics card is still OC'd, but for some reason I can't use my computer until I restart.

What's going on and how can I fix it?

I am presuming that you do not want hibernation ect. After all, just hit power button on monitor if you go away.
If you do not want hibernation, run below code in Run. Reboot.
Code:
powercfg.exe -h off
For other settings try this.

Code:
Search for power options in start menu.

Click on create a power plan, on the left.
Tick High performance
Name it "My Custom Plan".

Turn off the display: Never.

Put the computer to sleep: Never.

Click Create.

Click Change Plan Settings, a new windows will pop up.

Click on Change advance power settings.
-Require a password on wakeup - Setting: No.
-Hard Disk - Turn off hard disk after - Setting: Number Zero = 0.
-Wireless Adapter Settings - Power Saving Mode - Setting: Maximum Performance.
-Sleep
=Sleep after - Setting: Never.
=Allow wake timers - Setting: Disable.
-USB Settings - USB Selective suspend setting - Setting: Disable.
-PCI Express - Link State Power Management - Setting: Off.
-Display - Turn off display after - Setting: Never.
-Multimedia settings - Setting: Optimize video quality.
Also try this as well. The last screenshot untick each option from bottom to top, there are three options. Hit OK. Reboot after all above and below are done.
[This is for you're network device of course.]

Definitely do this:
powercfg.exe -h off

You save yourself a few GB of hard drive space when you get rid of that hiberfil.sys file.

Cool, guys. Thanks. I'll have to form the habit of turning off my screen when I'm not using it though. Ah, well.

Thanks for your help.
