I'm glad I was able to help you fix your brand-new, apparently bricked card.

Are you familiar with the OCN 'system of positive-reinforcement', by chance?

I have aftermarket cooling on mine, and won't go past 1.3v's

Do you know how to check for stability?

My cards (or at least one of the two) really aren't 100% stable at 1GHz either, even at 1.312V. They'll get through Vantage or Heaven just fine, but there's other stuff they just don't like and will crash the driver.

Getting a card that will do 1GHz stable is not a guarantee. Many can, but not all.

1.28V? That's quite a lot of voltage for 950MHz X. It won't hurt anything, but it'll run warm. 83C is safe, it's okay (but pretty warm for a single 5850). Are you sure you can't do that clock with a bit less V?

i tried to set the volt on 1.2 ::Crashed after 15 minutes playing Metro 2033

1.22:: crashed after 20 min

i`ll try other values

but is these trials and crashing affect the gpu?

I have the same question as Wesley55. I just recently got a Sapphire 5850 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-884-_-Product) for my new system, I'm pretty sure it's a non-referrence card. I was trying to overclock it yesterday with MSI Afterburn, but was only able to get stable core clock of 840Mhz, I was however able to push my memory clock up to 1140Mhz. I went into the settings to enable vcore adjustments, but it's still not allowing me to change it. I tired to use several other programs to see the voltage, gpu-z doesnt show it so I assume it's probably running at the default which I believe is 1.08v. The card runs at around 55c under load after the overclock, so I'm sure I have room to increase the voltage.

Do you know if I'll be able to flash this card to the ASUS BIOS, and if so, will I then be able to adjust the voltages. I know that's whats holding my overclock back, and I want to know if theres a way to get around this without having to voltmod my PCB.
