I wonder why I can't run it all max out... ummm
What drive are you using on your card and have you use BETA 1.05 patch for Quake 4?

I ran Quake 4 last night with Ultra Settings 1280x1024 with 2x AA and was at 60FPS constantly...if I go higher than that the framerates drop depending on the section I'm in...lowest I saw was 10FPS

When I tried 1.05 patch and 16x AA the game went virtually unplayable as well.
Tbh, I could hardly even tell the difference between the AA, the games looks great whatever, so I just turn it off for smoother gameplay.
