Can my mobo support 800+ FSB?

Thread Starter
If the mobo says that it can support 400,533,800 FSB speeds, does that mean that it won't support anything above 800? For example I buy a CPU that has 800FSB, but I decide to overclock it to 900FSB, will the mobo still support it?

So do you guys all think my Shuttle mobo would be able to handle a 1000FSB CPU? (mobo supports 800FSB).

It may downclock it to run native with the board.

Wudaddy you will be fine. The mobo makers dont incorporate overclocked FSBs' because you are supposed to be running at stock (800mhz) FSB. I used to have a real crappy Chaintech mobo that cost me $80 which took my prescott to 4.0ghz, well over 800mhz FSB. You will be fine, dont even pay attention to the rated values.

good luck.

Thanks guys. I'm planning to get a cheap 2.6ghz Pentium 4 with HTT, 13x multiplyer and 800FSB and overclock it to 3.2ghz (which is around 985FSB). Now the only thing I'm worried about is if my RAM can run at 246mhz...
