im sure the dynex psu's are better than what comes with most cases, but i dont know much of dynex myself, they look sorta cheap to me, so i would think they arent the greatest... but it should hold u off for a year or two...

i was looking at CFing my system, but the benchmarks i've read don't seem to live up to the hype.

edit: i'm looking at the Raptors. 74gb one is on sale on newegg. Besides from faster loading times, what else will perform better? and how hard are they to install when i already have an IDE drive?

Raptors are easy to install, you might have to set SATA to enabled in your bios...
As far as PSU's, Look into the one I use. Fortron 500w, can be found for $80. Very high quality PSU. Either that or the Tagan 480w U22. Both are excellent performers for the price.

Where are you poeple getting your power requirements from?
In reality the "WATT" rating on may PS don't amount to JACK!
Any current system with a power in depandant vid card needs a minimum of 24a total on the 12v+ rail(s)
I've see rated 500w PS with less than my antec 350w

The Raptor may require a full OS reload ans the below suggestion wil most definatly.
If your up to it a good pair of 80g SATA drives in RAID 0 will perform very well and cost about $110. Either the WD800JB or the MAxtor Diamond Max 10 work very well. You MUST have 2 of the exact same drives.
