Asus p6t deluxe v2 quick cmos battery question

From the motherboards I have here, they all have the plus side on the top.

Yep, + side facing the top and your mobo manuel should explain that.

Your manual covers which way the battery is inserted. There is also a "+" on the motherboard indicating which side is which.

Wow I have been Googling hours trying to find out which way the battery goes. My Manual not install guide that is on the disk but the fall manual from the Asus site does not give a clue which way the battery goes on a Asus p6t deluxe v2 mob.

I still haven't found the + sign.. can anyone just say is the battery + side towards the outside of the board or towards the inside ?

It sure would help if manuals said this !!

OK I found the + hidden under the clip. That was the way I thought it went. I don't think the clip thingy on top is actually touching the side of the battery and can press it to stay closer. But the actual connection might be further down.

Can't get beyond the blue opening mob screen where says hit delete to set up, I have a PS2 board connected and delete won't work. Have done the unplug power chord, reset cmos jumper replaced battery (battery place told me old was bad but I am not totally sure it was).

I have had other issues (shut down at random times) which may also be a mob issue - and two Ethernet ports don't work one has orange light always on and connect Ethernet to the other immediately shuts down computer. Power supply seems fine.

But now can't get beyond the post screen (do get normal beep) but blue screen says on or after a time just goes to blank screen nothing more.

I am trying to figure out now - the mob light by the "reset" is RED. Manual says its suppose to be Green. That may be a clue am rechecking manual...

May be a grounding issue but I am not tech savy enough to take the mob out to put in cardboard box etc..

The mob is under warranty and new one being sent but don't know yet how long will take and computer is crucial for business so trying anything to at least get it booted. But may be lost cause.

Prior it booted fine and shut down after 10 minutes to after about 4 hours - totally unpredictable. Even 10 minutes I'd take vs can't even boot.

Ok solved the booting... not quite sure how... so must have battery in right and set up screen came up... one secret was don't WAIT for the blue screen that says to select delete to get to set up. The keyboard seemed dead (used PS2 since have bad issue not recognizing usb before). BUT I noted at some point the green lights flashed on the keyboard ... hitting delete BEFORE the screen that says to select delete resulted in it going to set up.

Still have other mob issues but at least I am booted...
