Yes thats correct
Your PPD is your points per day based on your current performance at that moment in time, it takes into account any bonuses. For example, your PPD will be higher when not using the GPU/CPU for other tasks than, but you will see a reduction if you start using GPU/CPU for other things.
The one 1,325 would have been the points for one WU (work unit), the PPD takes into account how many you can fold in a day.

For my 580, I can run it up to 85C no problem, and from what I've heard anything up to 95C is "safe". For your 6850 it should be about the same. If you don't plan to run the -advmethods flag on your GPU, it shouldn't reach 80C with full load unless you have it parked on top of a heater vent or your case cooling is lacking.

My 2500k is running @4.5Ghz and is staying around 37-40

my GPU is staying around 48-50 (no over clock/over volt

You are fine on temps and could even run -advmethods on your GPU if you want. Follow that 2nd post in the thread I linked if you use v7 for GPU folding. The systray client has the space in the 3rd tab to add it. Console Client is in the "target field" under properties when you right-click on the shortcut.

You can also run the -smp flag with your 2500k no problem. I would suggest -bigadv but the requirements are changing in a week or so and it is not yet known if a 2500k/2600k can meet the new deadlines while running a "core spoof" in linux or in a VM in Windows. So just set the smp flag and don't worry about it until later.

Happy Folding! cheers.gif

-bigadv is changing in about a week to require at least 16 cores and shortening the deadline to turn them in. At this time no one knows if you will still be able to successfully fold -bigadv with VM/Linux. I would suggest SMP folding if you are just getting into folding.

This guide is how to set up the v7 client which contains both SMP and GPU folding. When you are doing the initial set-up, select SMP&GPU for the preferred mode and it will auto detect your GPU. This is a sort of one-stop-place for folding since it will run both CPU and GPU folding without dealing with two separate clients/consoles. It will also track your PPD for both methods and your total. This means you won't need FAHMon or HFM.NET running at the same time. Check the 2nd post in the guide on how to get -advmethods running in v7 for your GPU.

This post shows some advanced flags and settings you can use to increase your PPD and tweak folding to suit your system.

Should I be looking at that V7 ?? ... or is it strictly AMD and HT systems (i7) ...

I am currently folding with the GPU 3 Client ... and using HFM.NET ... ...

My PPD is : 13,511.7

V7 looks like its beta that combines both CPU and GPU folding. GPU 3 is a standalone client for just GPU and smp is standalone client for CPU folding.

I'm still using it. I won't be going over to v7 until I know some more details about it. Can anyone shed some more light, its doesn't look like its possible to run advmethod with fermi cards.

You can run advmethods with v7. Follow the v7 GPU Guide on where and how to add the flag in. It auto-detects that your card has Fermi so you don't need to add any "forcegpu fermi" flags or anything like that.

Yes GPU3 is ok. I started folding on the GPU3 systray client and it is still a great option.
