Should a WU of this size be going slow? The second pic is so you can see how the time left and stuff disappear temporarily. I also noticed that my GPU temps have stayed down like it isn't being used.

Edit: I just got another WU that's the same size as the one in the picture and just noticed that it's acting up again. FahMon says it's worth 1888 points. Is that why it's taking so long?

for a protein of that complexity ... I think 1184 iter/sec would be perfectly fine with a 9800 card.

Run something like FAHspy which lets you see how long its taking you to do each percentage of folding... then you can leave the display closed.

On a 9800 I'm guessing that it'd be 3 or 4 minutes per percentage for an 1888 work unit as they take about 1.30 seconds on my GTX275.

I'm by no means an expert.. I'm just guessing from what I've seen so far

hope this helps

cheers!

Hi all,

I've got the GPU folder going on my 8800GT but when I try to install the standard CPU client it gives me the option to repair or remove, not install so I can run both and my computer spends a lot of time on and not in use so I'd really like to get it going. No doubt there has already been an answer to this question but i wasn't gonna go searching through the 1 billion+ posts on the folding forum.
As always I'm repping for a solution.

If you're trying to install 2 CPU clients the easiest way is to just copy and paste the folding@home-x86 folder so you gte 2 of them. Then just make shortcuts and run as though they were seperate client.

What I do is run a system try client and an SMP client (inless you put in the -smp flag it runs the same as a system tray client). If you leave your computer on 24/7, then you should put the -smp flag on the client.

Go with whichever way suits you.

EDIT: The best option for CPU folding would be a VMware client. Take a look at this guide for Notfred's:

For the stats page to get to 1,500, if you fold for you cpu and gpu does it count both? Or just only the cpu?
