Could you explain why for me? Is it 'cause I use onboard?

I'm gonna get an Audigy2 ZS soon, so should I use hardware then?

I've been told it improves performance on hardware.

It does sometimes.
But you wont see any performance gain if its onboard nor will you get better sounds.
Ya you should use hardware when you get a sound card.

Yup.
You gotta disable it from your BIOS.
And uninstall whatever software comes with it.
I myself didnt have to uninstall any software but it might have to happen.

I installed drivers for it, but no software, I don't believe. Wait, drivers are software, right? In that case - yes, I have software. How would I get rid of 'em?
