building a second rig..need input.

im building a second rig, for my younger brother.

he enjoys Valve games (TF2, CSS, etc) and im gonna get him on bad company 2 perhaps. would this rig work good for him? and for gaming in general?

i would get an ATI card but dont know much about them in specs wise and which ones are good?

Rig looks good to me, it will easily max out any Source game like TF2, CSS, L4D like you wanted, and will certainly run bad company 2 but probably not on full settings. Looks fine on lower settings though so its all good

If you did wan't to get an ATI card the equivalent card is probably 4850 or a 4870, I think the 4870 would probably be slightly faster but maybe cost more. Either way you wont have any troubles running those games.

The rest of the build looks solid to me for the price

You said you don't need the memory and it also doesn't look like you need the CPU cooler. So, take both of those out of the build that I provided you with. The total is right around your $500 mark and you get an ATI 5770. The 5770 will smoke the 9800gt in games and benchmarks.

well i figured if im not overclocking it a heatsink and fan that comes with the cpu should be fine for now?
