In CSS iam only gettin around 40-60 fps. I know this my rig i should get getting alot more then that. I have no clue what the problem is. I have vsync turned off and someone told me to type in r_3dnow or somthin like that in consol and it still isnt working. Oh and what are artifacts?

It might be the Dual Core isn't supported with CS:S, I know with Battlefield 2 before the patch came out, people with Dual Core chips got some odd framerates.

That could be the only thing I could think of.

I dod a quick search on anything with CS:S and Dual Core chips

EDIT:

Something I found but not sure on the legitimacy

no point in have a dual core cpu for css

it will preform like a 3500+ in games that doesnt support dual core

Yep, think Gator is right, it's likely to be the dual core.
To see if this is the issue, open task manager and go to the CSS process and untick the CPU1 box. This should then just run CSS on one core and reduce the lag

Right, okay. What Forceware drivers are you using? Are they the newest ones?
